Turquoise Rockstars

We bought this solid oak rocking chair and the open face china hutch from an auction in the spring. They've been sitting in storage waiting for us to refinish them and place them in the store.

We refinished both pieces in a custom turquoise color in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, using a new technique to add more character. One thing that I really love about ASCP is how you can mix colors so easily together and they always end up beautiful, no mucky mixed colors. So I mixed up a couple of my favorite paint colors and went to town on the chair and China hutch!

The China Hutch sold the first week we opened the store! But fortunately for you all the turquoise rocking chair is still up for grabs!

Lemons and Lace will be having an Open House Party on October 10th and we will be putting a lot more items in the store for you all to grab up! Don't miss out on our handmade items and newly refinished furniture. So there will be lots of updated photos on our social media accounts, you can find us on FacebookInstagramPinterestTwitter, and of course our website.

They will also be having giveaways and sales going on all day!

Lemons and Lace Marketplace is located on Main Street in Canton, OK
They are open Tuesday-Saturday 10AM-5PM

Big Project = Big Results

The two toned look taken to the max! I'm not joking when I named this blog post "Big Project=Big Results", this custom order was the hardest project we took on. Oh but the results made it so worth it!

This custom order included the following:
Large circular table with table leaf
2- Captain chairs
4- Table chairs

The customer, Reba, wanted a two toned look with ASCP Old White on the bottom and the table top/seats stained in a Dark Spanish stain..which meant stripping the stain off of the chairs and table (cue the blood, sweat, and tears now) lol. But we were determined to do it!
It required TWO cans of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, 1/2 can of Spanish stain, 1/2 can of Annie Sloan Clear and Dark Wax, 2 cans of varnish and stain stripper, 3 good coats of poly all over the stain, and countless hours of sanding, painting and waxing the chairs. Those spindles were a pain!
However as you can see the results were well worth all of it, and having one very happy customer made it all worth the frustration.

From dirty and piled up in storage to..
